Resumen
How does a country that has been traumatized by fear and political repression heal? How
do societies strike a balance between allowing enough time to pass in order for the sting of anger
and sorrow to lessen, and actively speaking in public ways about the pain that is felt by the
country’s inhabitants? The formation of collective memory often plays a large role in the process
of healing, and acts as a way for a group of people with some form of common identity to share,
preserve and reflect on their group or society’s past.
